Root Down Farm Freedom Ranger Chicken

Root Down Farm is a 62-acre farm in Pescadero with pastured poultry and pigs. Their mission is to humanely raise the healthiest animals possible, while working within our ecosystem to responsibly steward the land and improve soil health.

Freedom Rangers are a slower growing meat chicken. Commercial chickens are ready in 6 to 8 weeks. Although they are a slower growing meat chicken, they are not a heritage breed, and they grow a little faster than heritage breeds and have a better meat to bone ratio. They are flavorful and are fantastic roasted, tender, and juicy.
